Do You Think You Can?

Have you ever lost before you've even started?

You identify something that you want and put your mark on it.  "That's mine," you tell yourself.  "I'm going for it."  You get juiced, energized, and ready to take on the goal, and then, you fall flat on your face.

Yes, flat on your face. You tell yourself, "Oh, that's never going to happen. Who am I to think I could have that or do that?  That only happens for other people.  Not me.  Just forget it."

You've lost, big time.  Before you've even started!  Why?  Because you are listening to your inner voice that says "you can't". And, you hear it loud and clear.

Your subconscious mind cannot differentiate between a constructive voice and a destructive voice. "The subconscious mind will translate into reality a thought driven by fear just as readily as it will translate into reality a thought driven by courage, or faith," said Napoleon Hill.

So if you continue to feed your mind destructive voices, including "I can't", it will continue to spit out to you thoughts of defeat.  No can do.  You listen.  And you fall.

On the other hand, your subconscious also knows that when you feed your mind with positive, constructive, loving thoughts, foremost of which is "I can", then you will rise up in victory.  That is, if you hear those voices loud and clear.

This powerful mind tool is the law of autosuggestion.   Simply stated, what you suggest to yourself (i.e. feed your mind) and listen to, is reflected in your outer world because you will attract what your subconscious is saying.

Autosuggestion will "lead you to peace and prosperity, or down into the valley of misery, failure, and death, according to your degree of understanding and application of it," said Hill.

Furthermore, "Like the wind which carries one ship east, and another west, the law of autosuggestion will lift you up or pull you down, according to the way you set your sails of thought."

Set your sails of thoughts to lift you up.  Start by thinking that you CAN!

P.S.  Don't miss the Showcase.

"If you think you are beaten, you are,

If you think you dare not, you don't.

If you like to win, but you think you can't,

It is almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost,

For out in the world we find,

Success begins with a fellow's will -

It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,

You've got to think high to rise,

You've got to be sure of yourself before,

You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go

To the stronger or faster man,

But soon or late the man who wins

Is the man who thinks he can!"

A mental diet is good for your success. Banish all those negative snacks you have lying around; they just cause trouble and defeat.  Who needs them?  Don't even take a nibble of a negative thought. You've heard the saying, "Bet you can't eat just one."  Yes, one negative thought leads to another, and another, and so on, until you're stuffed with negativity.

Join me in going on a mental diet and vow to feed your mind only with positivism.  Stuff your mind with thoughts of "Yes, I can."

I am back fromPhoenixand my life balance presentation at the Hispanic Dental Association meeting was very well received.  Speaking gives me the opportunity to share my message with others to inspire and motivate them to live their lives to the fullest, both personally and professionally.   That is my mission.

Have a fantastic week and think "I can".

Stephanie
