Oh, The Choices You Make
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself
any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go," said Dr. Seuss

Oh yes, the choices you make shape your life and determine the places you'll go.
Choose to spend more than you earn = debt.
Choose to be judgmental, angry, critical, bossy = no friends.
Choose to complicate your life = headaches, stress, backaches, illness.
Choose to hang out with the wrong crowd = you become one of the wrong crowd.
Choose not to live a healthy lifestyle = fatigue, overweight, disease.
Choose to be negative = attract more negative into your life.
Choose to be positive = attract the positive into your life.
Choose to become a class act = associate with more class act people.
Choose personal development = become a better you.
Choose education = widen your horizons.
Choose to save money = greater peace of mind.
Choose a healthy lifestyle = better health into your golden years.
As you can see, you create what happens to you by the choices you make. It is these choices which will determine your path in life and the places you will go. Make poor choices and suffer the consequences; make good choices and reap the benefits.
Sometimes, though, life knocks you off the balance beam and you are dealt a raw hand. It was NOT your choice. However, you still have a choice. You can choose to stay down, give up, and be bitter. OR, you can choose to learn from the fall, look for solutions, and make new choices that will get you back on your path.
A wise mentor once told me that I have three choices in dealing with the life I have. One, I can choose to be unhappy and live my life that way. Second, I can choose to change it. And, third, if the situation cannot be changed, then I can accept it, choose to be happy about it, and get on with life.
It comes down to choices. They will determine the places you'll go.
