How BIG is Your Thinking?
"Case history after case history proved that the size of bank accounts, the size of happiness accounts, and the size of one's general satisfaction account is dependent on the size of one's thinking. There is magic in thinking big," said David J. Schwartz in his book, The Magic of Thinking Big.
What is the size of your thinking?
You have a choice to think big or small. Which will it be?
Thinking small keeps you small by creating negative pictures in your mind which cause you to put the brakes on what is possible for you. It's no use, that will take too long, I'm too old to start now, you tell yourself.
Thinking small:
- Stunts your personal and professional growth
- Inhibits your creativity
- Keeps you boxed in to your old ways
- Causes you to act small
- Limits you
- Gives you permission to wallow in self-pity and make excuses for what is not working in your life
- Keeps your vision short-term rather than long-term
Thinking BIG, on the other hand:
- Gives you big ideas
- Gives you big goals as you set your sights high
- Causes you to act big (while keeping your ego in check)
- Fosters your creativity by asking how else can you accomplish what it is you want
- Brings big rewards
- Assists you to think outside the box and explore possibilities
- Creates power and momentum
- Helps you overcome your failures
- Encourages opportunity
- Fosters long-term planning
Thinking BIG promotes deposits into your general satisfaction account!
How do you think BIG?
Be positive in all that you think, say, and do. See what CAN be, not just what is. See who you CAN be, not just who you are today. Be encouraging and inspiring and strive to bring out the best in yourself and in others.
Banish your small thinking which keeps you small and bring on the BIG thinking. Imagine how fulfilling your life, both personally and professionally, will be when you and those around you think BIG.

"I like thinking big. If you're going to be thinking anything, you might as well think big."
Donald Trump
"Find a purpose in life so big that it will challenge every capacity to be at your best."
David McKay
"Use the big thinker's vocabulary. Use big, bright, cheerful words. Use words that promise victory, hope, happiness, pleasure, avoid words that create unpleasant images of failure, defeat, grief."
David Joseph Schwartz
"I dare you to think bigger, to act bigger, and to be bigger. I dare you to think creatively. I dare you to lead and inspire others. I dare you to build character. I dare you to share. And I promise you a richer and more exciting life if you do!"
William Danforth

Thinking BIG is a habit that can be learned. Start today. Write down what you've been thinking, and if you find it to be small with negative undertones, rewrite it into a statement that fosters BIG thinking. Use words that are upbeat, encouraging, and promising. Start your day with an inspiring message. Look for opportunities that will take you somewhere BIG. Be BIG in your conversations and exchanges with others. Brainstorm with your team (co-workers) ways to be BIG and create BIG value for your customers/clients.
I challenge you to think BIG. Lead yourself to greater success, fulfillment, peace of mind, and happiness.
Have a fantastic week and think BIG.
Stephanie
