Your Hero Lies Within
When life throws you curveballs, disappointments, setbacks, defeats, and failures, how do you react? Do you wallow in self-pity or do you activate the hero within?
Hero?
"There's a hero if you look inside your heart. You don't have to be afraid of what you are. There's an answer if you reach into your soul. And the sorrow that you know will melt away.
It's a long road when you face the world alone. No one reaches out a hand for you to hold. You can find love if you search within yourself. And the emptiness you felt will disappear.
Lord knows dreams are hard to follow. But don't let anyone tear them away. Hold on. There will be tomorrow. In time you'll find the way.
And then a hero comes along with the strength to carry on. And you cast your fears aside. And you know you can survive. So when you feel like hope is gone look inside you and be strong. And you'll finally see the truth. That a hero lies in you."
Sung by Mariah Carey
Yes, a hero lies in you. Where do you find it?
Start with your thoughts. You have control over them. "All success in life, whether material or spiritual, starts with that twelve-pound mass sitting between your shoulders. Or more specifically, with the thoughts that you put into your mind every second of every minute of every day. Your outer world reflects the state of your inner world. By controlling the thoughts that you think and the way you respond to the events of your life, you begin to control your destiny." (from Robin Sharma's, The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari)
Controlling your thoughts. That's another way of saying think positive. It takes mental discipline to rid yourself of negativity and it won't happen overnight. Furthermore, it will never happen if you don't start. Day by day, you can train your mind to stay away from negative thoughts by immediately replacing those thoughts with positive ones. Immediately! Remember, you have control over your thoughts so use that control to your advantage. Let your hero speak.
Ditch your feelings of hopelessness and despair and replace them with thoughts of victory. Repeat this mantra: Within me lies the strength and power I need to live my dreams.
Then, search your heart and soul for guidance. Find your passion. It will ignite your hero.
"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds: your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person than you ever dreamed yourself to be," continued Sharma.
What can you accomplish, what dreams will you realize when you activate your hero and become a greater person than you ever dreamed to be?
See the truth. Believe the truth. A hero lies in you.
