 The 2007 Challenge

The New Year is one week behind us.  How will this year be different for you?

In 2007 I challenge you to:

Act.

Believe in yourself.

Create magical moments.

Do the right thing.

Exercise.

Follow your heart.

Give freely.

Honor yourself.

Ignite your passion.

Judge no one.

Kick your bad habits.

Laugh often.

Mentor someone.

Nurture your mind, body, and spirit.

Open doors.

Play often.

Question.

Reduce your debt.

Seize the opportunity.

Tame your negativity.

Uncork your creativity.

Venture from that safe place.

Win.

X-plore the new.

Yearn gracefully.

Zoom forward.

What is your greatest challenge in 2007?  E-Mail me (drszh@7steps2abalancedlife.com) your challenge and I will work it into a newsletter for the New Year.

Are you reviewing 2006 and setting goals for 2007?

Insights can be gained from these two "The Mentor's Mind" columns in the Woman Dentist Journal.  Non-dentists can extrapolate to their own profession.

The holidays were spent with family, friends, and workmen.  There was a whirlwind of activity around the Houseman home and a great deal was accomplished, but there is still much to finish.  There were a few glitches, but nothing that could not be fixed.  We're now waiting on countertops and then the plumbing can be completed.  The end is in site, at least for this phase of the remodeling.

As much as I enjoy the holidays I am always glad when January rolls around so that I can return to routine.  Yes, I'm a routine person.  Boring sometimes, but I find myself more productive and on task when I follow some semblance of a schedule.  I'm on task to complete my book Rings Around The Collar and get it to the printer.  Then I will move on to other projects I have on the back burner.

Organizations also review prior years and set goals for the future and the American Association of Women Dentists is no exception.  I have a strategic planning meeting to attend next month with the group.  Settling into my homework for the session I have been reading Good to Great by Jim Collins.  It's great so far.

Have a fantastic week and challenge yourself.

Stephanie
