How To Be Happy At Work
It's another day at the job or the office, or wherever it is you work. Do you find it to be Ho-Hum or Hi-Hum? Has it occurred to you that you have the power to choose which it will be?
Furthermore, how you choose to start and spend your day will impact not only your happiness and work ethic, but also that of your co-workers and customers/clients/patients.
How?
"If you are a confident, cheerful, positive person, your co-workers, friends, and family will be attracted to your personality. If you are unhappy, negative, and always complaining about your situation, others will be repelled. Even when at times you don't feel very happy, by forcing yourself to behave in a positive fashion, you will find that you soon feel genuinely upbeat, because your subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between an artificial emotion and the real thing. When you behave positively, you will positively influence everyone around you - including yourself."
Furthermore, "with happiness, the more you give, the more you get. The greatest rewards in life do not come from the accumulation of financial assets; they result from the psychic gratification that accompanies helping others achieve happiness. Those who acquire the greatest riches in life have discovered how to link the two; they have learned how to provide a service that creates satisfaction for customers and generates profits for themselves.
When you approach your job with exuberance and a determination to make your customers glad they chose to do business with you, great benefits will accrue to you. There are never enough happy people who share their joy with others." (Excerpt from Napoleon Hill's Positive Action Plan)
Gee, happy people are fun to be around. Who would have ever thought! Not only that, happiness is contagious and will spread to your co-workers and even your customers/patients.
So, why would you choose to be unhappy?
Oh yes, stuff happens to make you miserable, life throws you a curveball, your always miserable customer/patient is coming in today, you had an argument with your spouse. The list is endless. There always seems to be a reason to be unhappy, if you want to go there.
I challenge you NOT to go there. As Mr. Hill said, force yourself to behave in a positive manner and set the wheels in motion to have a powerful Hi-Hum day at work. Your co-workers, employer, and customers/clients/patients will thank you.
