The Secret to Health, Wealth, and Happiness

It is no secret that I have been reading The Secret lately.  Author Rhonda Byrne writes of "wisdom from modern-day teachers - men and women who have used it to achieve health, wealth, and happiness."   As 2007 winds down, and 2008 is fast approaching I want to get a head start on my positive thinking for the New Year.  Not that I intentionally think pessimism, but it does tend to creep into my being every so often, as I imagine it does for you also.

So, let's make a pact to banish the negative and bring on the positive!  Following are a few of my favorites from the book.

"The Secret is the law of attraction!  Everything that's coming into your life you are attracting into your life.  And it's attracted to you by virtue of the images you're holding in your mind.  It's what you're thinking.  Whatever is going on in your mind you are attracting to you."  Bob Proctor.  You are what you think about.

"Our job as humans is to hold onto the thoughts of what we want, make it absolutely clear in our minds what we want, and from that we start to invoke one of the greatest laws in the Universe, and that's the law of attraction.  You become what you think about most, but you also attract what you think about most."  John Assaraf.  That is the power of having a clear vision for your personal life and your professional life.  If you don't know what you want, then how can you receive it?

"Here's the problem.  Most people are thinking about what they don't want, and they're wondering why it shows up over and over again."  John Assaraf.  Focus on what you do want in your life.  Keep your thoughts positive.

"See the things that you want as already yours.  Know that they will come to you at need.  Then let them come.  Don't fret and worry about them.  Don't think about your lack of them.  Think of them as yours, as belonging to you, as already in your possession."  Robert Collier.  Focus on receiving what it is you want, not on the how it will come about. Let the Universe take care of that (with a little help from you.)

"Everyone visualizes whether he knows it or not.  Visualizing is the great secret of success."  Genevieve Behrend.  Visualization is powerful - see it in your mind, believe it possible, believe it happening here and now, and you will attract it.

"In relationships we're so used to complaining about other people...  But for relationships to really work, we need to focus on what we appreciate about the other person, not what we're complaining about.  When we're complaining about those things, we're only getting more of those things."  Marci Shimoff.  Try it today - find one thing to appreciate about the people who surround you at home and at work, and focus on that.

"Happier thoughts lead to essentially a happier biochemistry.  A happier, healthier body.  Negative thoughts and stress have been shown to seriously degrade the body and functioning of the brain, because it's our thoughts and emotions that are continuously reassembling, reorganizing, re-creating our body."  Dr. John Hagelin. There's no doubt in my mind that stress and negativity are contributing factors to illness.  It's happened to me.

I can not dismiss the Law of Attraction theory; I've seen it at work in my own life and in that of others.  So, I keep The Secret by my bedside and read a few pages every night.  Plus, I keep the secret near throughout the day.  What do I have to lose, except negativity?

It is hard to imagine going through life with a pessimistic attitude.  You think, believe, and attract more negativity into your life when you live that way.  Some people are like this, and you probably know a few of them.  Don't let that happen to you.  No matter how difficult life may appear, or how hard your fall off the balance beam is, dig deep and find that "something" positive. Hold onto it.  Think, believe, and act positive and you will attract health, wealth, and happiness into your life.  That's the secret!

Have a fantastic week and let the secret out.

Stephanie
